An end to alarmism...

...in 1989 Stephen Schneider was reported as saying "...We need to get some broad based support... to capture the public imagination, we have to offer up some scary scenarios, make simplified dramatic statements and little mention of any doubts one might have. Each of us has to decide the right balance between being effective, and being honest..." Today he is singing a different tune...
When it comes to making climate predictions he now states there is "a cascade of uncertainties" and the concept of dreaded "tipping points" has been thrown out the window. So what's to be done Stephen ? "Well, that's a value judgement," Schneider said.
A far cry from the 1989 statement above, and an obvious retreat from apocalypse now...and meanwhile, the NZ government has been urged to take its time on climate change policy...
