Prior to the collapse of communism I belonged to the NZ branch of Solidarity. I also started a local group to SAVE ANZUS from the depredations of the 1980's so called "peace movement". I have been aware since those days that fear, outright lies and overstatement always been the green/red weapons of choice. "Climatastrophe" and the economic bill that goes with it looks like another huge hoax, primarily designed to achieve global socialism. Oh those horrible 'lefty busybodies'. Switch off the talkback radio mate, too much of it is bad for the brain.
H L Mencken was writing in the USA in the 20's and 30's. "Lefty busybodies" were presumably busy around that time,with good reason. (The great depression etc.) What irks me today is that hard left wing thinking should take in the fact that socialism wherever it has been applied has been an economic and social disaster. Hasn't stopped the FW's though from attempting to ram it down our throats...
